Check whether an offset follows a committed dropped section. Consult the source generation's persisted dropping flag and high watermark. This allows the scanner to carry its framing state across ingestion slices.

Parameters:

fid (required)

Stored source-file identifier.

offset (required)

Byte offset at which scanning will resume.

Returns:

True when the generation is dropping at or before this offset, otherwise false.
